Stearing head bearings are a common problem on 929/954's. I believe they may have even had a recall on those also...Steering stabilizer will make u fall in love all over again. Ever since i bought my $150 Scotts for my 929 and my 954, i'll never ride another bike without a stabilizer...It makes a world of difference and makes you feel like you have more control.....Mine has saved my azz a few times....=-)

I have an ohlins and love it. +1 on never riding without a damper again. they are pricey but well worth the money. http://www.stuntlife.com/forums/464-...per-929-a.htmlcheck out this one. on the sound it's making at certain rpms what is the sound like? buzzing clicking, popping?

you should get a damper, but you shouldnt have head shake all the time unless somethings wrong. as far as the buzzing noise do you have the stock exhaust valve still on? they are known to make noises at certain rpms.

I beleive they are the stock valves, and the bike has 16,000 miles. The noise is buzzing kinda sound......but only around 3,700-4,000 rpm, anything over or under and she sounds fine.

Check your head bearings before you dump 300 or moreof your hard-earned dollarsinto a steering damper.

I've seen head shake once on my 929 and I know exactly why it happened.

You shouldn't be having a reoccurring issue with head shake unless something is wrong.

The buzz is likely a loose fairing bolt. Go around and check for anything loose...even the mirrors and the black insert near the headers....check it all.

LOOSE FRONT FENDER BOLT!!!!

That was the noise!! 1 turn and the noisewas gone!! The head bearings seemed tight, and the front end seemed to check out fine. The more i think about it, the more i think is was just me. I'm upgrading from a 91 CBR 600 F2....a heavier slower bike. I think the head shake is just me gettin used to a newer bike.

Thanks for all the help guys!!!!

The easiest way to know if the neck bearings are bad is to slowly turn the handle bars back and forth and if you hear a randoom tiny little clicking noise, there bad

I just started hearing it on mine and the bearings actually just came here today from Carolinacycle.com... Gonna be putting them in before sunday hopefully
