"blades dont need dampenders usually, the problem with the loose front can be sorted by tightening the head stem bearings. I dropped my forks 5mm through the clamps and tightened the head bearing and the thing is brilliant now. "

929 are famous for head shake and twitchy front ends
and it is possible your head bolt is loose, make sure that with spec, then make sure your front tires/bearing are in good order, and remeber a shim in the front can e cuased by a problem in the rear
what hes talking bout droppin them through,is that he loosened the upper and lower triples and pushed his forks through them 5mmm then retightened
by shim is it hopping up and down or side to side???
