Spark Plug Info
My 929 is spluttering till about 3000rpm so i want to change plugs asap .Can IMR9C-9H plug listed for 954 work with 929 ? My dealer only has these in stock now and has CR9EHIX-9 listed for 929 on order.
Hey man, can i ask how was it sputtering? did it run alright for a minute, then switch, or bad all the time? did it crank every time with the bad regulator? how much was the regulator? OEM honda part or aftermarket, ebay, etc? i've been around the world with my 929 running bad, started out as an electrical malfunction and melted the harness. now-new harness, new ecm, new plugs, etc. but no problem solved. any help appreciated.
Spluttered as if it was rich and then cleared up at about 3,000 rpm and above.
It was bad all the time when under 3,000 rpm .
Yes it did start every time with bad regulator .
OEM Regulator .
What happens when it goes faulty is gas leaks through vaccum inlet on regulator which if you look is connected via hoses to No 1 & No 4 throttle body .This causes those cylinders to burn richer due to added gas . If its your regulator u'll also find No 1 & No 4 plugs to be wet with unburnt fuel.
Hope this helps

I have a shave over 16k on my bike. HOWEVER, I have not determined that my regulator is my problem. But by hearing similar situations I think it is.
So, I'm gonna say around 15k for a regulator. Maybe replace the regulator at the 15k service interval while checking valve adjustments, change plugs, fresh fluids.
