Default should i switch to 1000rr forks?

wondering if i should make a trade with a friend to change out my entire stock 929 front end with his 1000rr front end. a complete, straight trade.

the things that are different:
-1000rr forks have a 102mm trail vs. 929 forks 97mm (which means i would have to bring up the forks in the clamps a little bit)
-310mm radial brakes on the 1000 vs. 330mm axially mounted brakes
-stiffer springs on the 1000rr (not sure what the spring rates are though)
-about the same miles on both (~20k)

the main thing i am worried about is the brake thing!
any advice?

I would stick with the stock forks.

i cant figure out why your "buddy" would want to trade his newer modern forks for your older style forks?

"buddy" (and quotes are used aptly in this case) has a chance to get some monoblock race calipers for a 929/954, for cheap apparently. (not sure what brand they are though)
my 929 is used mainly for stunting, so race brakes aren't for me (else i would buy them, if my 929 was my track bike)

If you're stunting that929 (), go with the 1000RR forks. Seals last much longer from what I hear. A buddy of mine has a handful of Erions and he's got two of them with the 1000RR forks and he doesn't stunt.

What you're doing is an upgrade but you usually have to pay for it! Nice find - take 'em!

well if your buddy has a handful of ERION's could you get the last 6 numbers off them and post them in the erion serial post and verify that the 8th digit is a 3

thanks "buddy"

oh sounds like a good deal to me if its a stunting upgrade.
