Hey, I'm looking for someone with experience to describe to me the "trick" to getting the weights out of the handle bars. It appears that there are 2 tabs that are locking the weight in, but I can't seem to figure the trick to get the 2 tabs out or even loose.

P.s. I don't care if you do or don't have the weights/bar end sliders on your ride, or you think they shouldn't be removed. I really don't care. Please just answer the question.

 

I saw a how-to on a throttle master install and the guy need to pull the tabbed-in bar-ends. He just started small and drilled progressively bigger till he could collapse and pry them out.

thats what i did. there's 2 rubber "O" rings, one at the front and the other at the rear of the weight. i used a drill and drilled the tabs between the weight and the inside of the handlebar tube, then drilled 360 degrees around in that space to weaken/remove the first o-ring. then after that i used a small flat head screw driver in that tab hole and pried the weight outward. once it was out far enough to grab it with pliers... i just pulled it out. i was a little bit of a PITA, but once i figured out this method, the other side was a piece of cake.
