Rear Brake Mount Rubbing!!

RE: Rear Brake Mount Rubbing!!
OK. I'm getting ready to go install my wheel back on bike with having new bearings and distance collar installed. One of the old bearings broke, so we had to cut out the remaining outer race (PITA!). But, I got it done and now it's ready to be put back on the bike.
I do have one question though. How tight is the distance collar inside the wheel supposed to be against the wheel bearings?? I thought that it would be pretty snug, but it seems to be about 1/4" away from the bearings. The Honda tech said that this was normal, but I just wanted to check with you guys. I don't want this same problem to happen again (and with maybe a worse effect later). [&:] Thanks for any information!

I should be closer than 1/4", it should resist moving around with a screwdriver but still possible. When the bearings are removed it's with a drift pin from through the collar with it at a slight angle. Take some pictures of it, maybe the bearings are not seated all the way.

You were exactly right. One of the bearings wasn't seated properly. I tapped it into place though, and everything went together great. Thanks for all the help guys.
And I just saw your picture vwmania, and that's cool! ha ha Pretty clever. It must have been blocked at work.
It was great to get out yesterday!! I'm glad to beback on the road. Down here in south Texas we're still in the60's if not higher. I should be going out again soon. Thanks again for the help guys!!
