Yes they are fuel injected. They're known for tank slappers. I haven't experienced any but I've only had mine a year. I've also read that some have stator issues. I haven't experienced this either. It really is a great bike though. You can sit up and ride even at high speeds, the seat is comfortable and there is tons of trunk space.

Tank-slapper
When just the right conditions are present, the handlebars on a motorcycle can start oscillating uncontrollably from side to side. Most commonly, this happens at high speed, or when there's not much weight on the front tire (such as while accelerating). Steering dampers are installed on some motorcycles to prevent this from happening.
The advice I've read for dealing with a tank slapper is to release pressure on the bars (gripping harder usually makes it worse), and gently roll off the throttle. This is no guarantee of making it stop, but there's a chance of reducing it, so it's worth trying.
Tank slapper situations commonly end in a high-side crash.
I had to look this term up.
I had my bike come close to tank slapping. I hit a couple bumps in the road, and them handle bars started really movin.
Had my CBR since the start of summer, and i've been loving it. (1st bike) So true about the trunk space (i could fit a body in there).
No problems so far, started with 20k miles and i'm up to 24,500. Just put a new chain and sprockets (-1 on the front) and this beast is ridin sooo smooth and quick. I fell in love with it again.

got a 2001 929 here with 30,000 miles on it, all original mechanicals except for chain and sprockets, oil changes and normal maintenance items, never had any charging issues but i do seem to hear about that alot with these bikes, but mine seems to be holding up fine, even the clutch is still the original honda installed unit. i ride mine frequently and hard but i maintain it very well. ive seen these bikes with like 70,000 + miles as long as you maintain them they run forever.
