I just went through this myself, bought a 929 recently but the lifter lever broke while the bike was off. Called up Honda and asked them if the bike had been in for the replacement and they said no. So I called up the local Honda dealer and they ordered the parts and called me when they came in. Brought my bike in and the next day picked it up, didn't have to pay for anything and didn't even have to sign any paperwork, they just handed me my keys. The only thing worth mentioning is that my tank was full when I had it towed and empty when I picked it up. The tow truck picked the bike up the night before and brought it to their storage (they said it was easier that way) and was supposed to deliver it the next morning early. Of course I went to the dealer around 1 and it hadn't arrived yet so I called it it was delivered around 1:30 or 2. Didn't get to see the fuel level (still wish bikes had a digital fuel gauge) so I don't know if it was the tow company or the shop, but I suspect the tow company because I think it would have been easier to just pick up the bike in the morning and deliver it straight away. Oh, just venting...
wow i didnt know there was a recall on 929's.....what exactly is it on? i think id rather just get the parts and do it myself, all the local shops here hire $5/hour monkeys to do their labor and quite frankly i dont trust anyone working on my bike but myself.
I found two different websites with info on this. Hope that it helps.

The reason they recalled the Clutch piece was because "5" Lifter levers failed back in 2001. Well I guess mine was number 6 (not)! They made a stronger Lifter lever for it. They have to open the bike up so you will have to put in the oil again if you do it yourself as well as seal it (is there a gasket?). I heard that if you do hard accelerations that it could cause the lifter lever to fail (ie, power wheelies). I would let he Honda dealer do it so if something goes wrong they can't say if was because you installed the new pieces incorrectly. You will know your lifter leaver failed if you pull your clutch back and it takes no effort, you will think that your clutch cable came loose or that it's not connected to the lifter lever, but checking you see the it is connected and it is moving the lever but still has no resistance.
