Put on a new gas tank ... went to start the bike ... and it shut off
now it wont even turn on AT ALL.
I made sure all the hoses were connected properly as well as the little connector that goes into the air box right by the gas tank. It's all connected properly.
Fuse box checks out, no fuses blown. I'm not very good at electrical stuff but I might become well versed with the proper direction. First thing I'd need to get is one of those meters?
Then where should I start the diagnostics??
I turn the key and have no power. Battery is not drained. I've hooked it up to a tender and it check out A-OK.

If it's like the f3, there is a 30amp main fuse, piggy-back with the starter relay.
Look under the seat, forward of the battery compartment. That's the first place to start.
As far as why it blew the main fuse, pull the tank and look for any wires that you
may have in-advertantly pinched/frayed when you did the swap.
Not much use changing the fuse till you find the short. Before you run out to
buy a multi-meter, try the Mark I eyeballs first. Follow all of the wires from the
battery, looking for cuts/nicks/burnt/melted spots. Odds are you'll find the
problem that way.
good luck, check back in, if that doesn't help, Ern

thank you for all the replies. I will try to get to it this weekend and see how it goes. I had no idea about that other main fuse not located in the fuse box. I'll start from there and start tracing wires and such ...
I hate taking the gas tank off ... I waste so much gas,
And I have the shop manual ... I wouldnt even have gotten the tank OFF without it, lol
