Default Power commander or Sprockets

Sup guys

We all seem to agreed that the 929s have kinda a flat spot in the lower RPM range. So what i'm wondering what would be better a power commander or different sprockets.

Each have their ups and downs. i'm trying not to kill my MPG, or have my speedo off by 15 MPH. My old bike had sprockets (-1, +5), so i clicked through the gears like Mack truck. but sprockets are much cheaper......

What do you guys think?

If you dont have mods a pc3 really isnt gonna help you any.So i guess that means sprockets win

I'm not sure if the 929s have them or not but on my old gixxer there was a timing retard eliminator (T.R.E.) that took out the grunt in low rpms for like 80 bucks

Hate to disagree with you here, bud, but that is 100% incorrect. I speak from experience here. Adding a PC has really helped in the sub-5k fuelling department on my 929, so much so that I had to regear (I had already done a sprocket change) because with the extra mid-range I was able to pull another tooth up front with out any issue. The bike also puuls cleanly from around 3k with no hesitation or flat spots on partial throttle.

My $0.02 is to go for the PC, then maybe go +2 on the rear if you want more (my current setup). The speedo is off by about 7-8% (fast)

If you were planning on forking out the money for a PC, why not do like a 520 conversion plus sprokets..it really helped my bike out..then after you start getting some other mods get your PC and make it worth your while..just my .02..either way your gonna be happy tho...

i would never suggest doing the 520 on ANY street bike they wear out WAY too fast and you dont really gain anything
