Default possibly getting an 00 929

i can pick up an 00 929 for $2500 but its got 30k miles on it. Im not worried about the 30k miles too much since these bikes can last way longer than that as long as its been properly maintained which im gonna have to inquire about. $2500 seems to be a pretty good deal for the current time or is that just average for a 929 with 30k miles you think? What are some specifics relating to the 929 i should look for? And if anyone really doesnt think its worth it at all thatd be good input too. My intentions are to buy it and ride it for the rest of fall and beginning of spring then sell it or trade it hopefully for around 3-3500 (or at least what i paid for it) or trade for a different bike once prices go up. Good or bad plan?

edit: it also says he bought the bike from a motorsports dealership last winter so do you think they did proper maintenance on it before they sold it or just purchased it from the original owner, made it look pretty, then said eff it and sold it?

$2500 is a pretty good price if its farily clean. the only problem i see with your plan is that you wont want to get rid of it. they are great bikes. they handle good, tons of power, look great, suprer comfy,l the trunk is huge! i put so much stuff in mine that i dont need a backpack when i commute. my first 929 erion went 80,000 mi and still ran great when that truck killed it. my second 929 has 15,000 miles on it and i currently ride it everyday.

i couldnt help but laugh at that even though its referring to the loss of an erion. god i love those. From the pictures it is in MINT condition, looks flawless, red and white paint scheme (one of my favorites on the f4i) and it looks great on the 929s as well. He says its been regularly maintained and is flawless mechanically. I definitely want to take a look at it, if its in as good as it appears i think i might do it.

I've just got mine on the road after doing a 3 year project thing with it.

For the past 3 years I had a SP1 (RC 51 ? In the states) and loved how quick it turned and wondered how to get the 929 as good , ended up fitting contisport attacks and it's f'ing brilliant and superb power if you keep it in the zone.

The newer models you seem to sit on them whereas I like the feel of sitting in the 929 easy to lock your knee's in for hard braking and swing off the side in the twisty's unless Casey Stoner advertises his bike I will be happy for some time to come.

all sounds good to me. Yeah if i get it those turn signals are gonna be the first things to go, then im chopping that exhaust in half. ive just been waiting to hear back from someone who inquired about buying my f4i. If i can get that deal squared away within a week or so i plan on having this in my driveway by next weekend, so fingers crossed.

and really sj? an rc51 has been on my list of bikes id like to own for years now. i dunno why ive just been drawn to them for some time now. The last few months ive had my eyes set on a 929/954 or an 05-06 zx6. But down the line ill own an rc51, theyre out of my price range at the moment.
