Default PC3 help

I recently bought a 2001 CBR 929 and the previous owner has it setup with a Power Commander. Im ASSUMING he has it mapped out to what is setup on the bike.

Which would be

Full Hindle Exhaust
K&N Air Filter

Now i dont know if he tweaked that map at all or what. But i did notice my mileage being terrible. I fill up the 4.75gal tank and i get 70-80 miles before my fuel light comes on. I can only assume this isnt normal just based from reading guys with the same bike, although without the pc3, getting almost 200 miles before the light. Now heres where my question comes in.

Whats the easiest way to increase my fuel economy? Im guessing if i unplug the power commander, the bike will run on stock settings? I dont know much about tinkering with a pc3, but i noticed on the box itsself theres a Fuel indicator with - and + levels, can i just adjust that and it will give better mileage? Im just not trying to make anything worse.

Power Commander General Downloads

I would check out their tutorials and then put one of the default maps for a bike with a full system on it:

Power Commander Downloads and Products Purchases

Ideally you should just take it in and have a custom map made. I can only get about 170miles before the light comes on if I try really hard, and then it's really boring to ride like that. Even riding like a hooligan I still get 115-125 miles before the light, so 70-80 just shows how rich that map is.
