New Owner
Hey all, I recently bought a 2000 929 and is shipping with JC Motors so no pics yet. I do have a question about gearing. it has 1 down and 2 up, do you all think that may be to excessive? It has a new chain( unknown to me) and if I go back 1 up will need a new chain as well? I look forward getting to know you all and thanks for the help.
I run with 1 down, 2up, seems to be the standard on the 929s around me. If it has a new chain on it already i dont see the need to change it unless you really dont like the way it rides. Its not a drastice change so you should be pretty pleased with those sprokets. Good Luck with it!!

Is it the Sunrise Yellow/Black or Red/White?
Thanks DunnRR and Trey929RR for the advice, I guess I will leave it alone and see how I like it. If there is anything I might need to know as new owner please share it with me, thanks! and once I get the bike I post some pics.
As a new owner Id change the oil, wash it, tire pressure, etc do a complete run through of the bike. Make sure everything is up to par. And then start getting some miles on it this bike is a blast.
is this one down on the front and two teeth up on the rear?
in all honesty, i wouldnt think that combo will make alot of difference, as up on the rear for faster acceleration and wheely happy, down on the front for faster top end.
i would have done one or the other for normal road riding
and done what you have for racing/track (depending on track that is,
as it would offer a bit better bottom to mid for comimg out corners ect, but i would think you would hardly notice on normal roads.
either way just enjoy it

From the pics it looks clean.
Tires look like they have good tread.
Chain is adjusted all the way, which is usualy a sign it might need replacing in the future. But I just read your OP and you said its a new chain??
Two bros slip on, undertail with integrated tail light, and the license plate is where I want mine so I think its pretty sweet.
Few other things like front flush mounts, double bubble screen, grips, bar ends and sliders, some carbon fiber accents, not feeling the seat covers but thats just me..

Thanks CTC, the guy told me it was a new chain with new vortex front and rear sprockets so I dom't know why is is all the way out now. I will have to look at that once I get the bike. Can you get a rear seat cowl?
