Default New guy here 929, but not in a bike :)

So I picked up a new to me mini sand rail a couple weeks ago. It's got a 2001 929 motor in it. Anyhow, I found the service manual online and I'm trying to learn as much as I can about it. It's got gobs of power and is a blast in the sand. I've got a small issue with a dead spot between 5000 and about 6500 rpms. It acts like its loading up. After reading through a few posts on here I've got a couple ideas of things to check on. Including the pressure regulator. The HVEC has been removed, still have it, but whoever worked on it has figured out how to remove it and not have the back through any codes?

Here's a couple pictures of it:

Thanks its a lot of fun. I found cbrforum by looking for some help with the stuttering its experiencing right now. I think I might have found the cause though. Looks like I've got a bad fuel pressure regulator on it. Ordered a new one for it last night. Any good sites you all would recommend in the future for parts?

Maybe this weekend of next I can try and get some video of it in action.

I use denniskirk.com, they are the cheapest I've found. Motorcycle-superstore.com is another good one. Nice sand rail! I like how u included the flag in the photos. :-)

Thanks.

I've retired that flag. It was in poor shape when I got the car. I had my wife bring me home a new one from our family's army surplus store.

Ronayers.com is the cheapest you will find for OEM parts.

Working on finding the fuel controller on my motor. I know this isn't it. But what is it? I'd look it up in the manual, but it's on my laptop at work.

Servo motor that controls the exhaust valve.
