Agreed, and yeah if you ever come down this way let me know. I ride with a friend who has a FZ6 so some good sport bike company would be well appreciated. Lots of good places here, like there I'd guess. You know SC, full of curvy, rotted out road, LOL. Let me know when it warms up.

this is what i dont understand, if your bike has the aftermarket lowering link which has the 3 holes in one end and 1 hole in the other,? then why do you need the stock link?

the aftermarket one has a setting for 4 inches, 2 inches, and stock(not sure about the exact inches but i am sure one of them is the stock setting)

i think the shop your at might be trying to pullone over on you! or they dont know what they are doing! or i could just be wrong but i dont think the last one is correct!

either way make sure you get that old link back because they probally will sell it and they go for at least 75bucks to close to 150

+1

Definetly get it back, along with any old parts you have changed... ALWAYS, even spark plugs... and if you bring it in for an oil change make a mark on the filter before you go in...

i worked for a few shops, cars and bikes and it's the samy grimey people everywhere... Usually the service writers not the techs

I know the guy that owns the shop personally, it's not a dogbone...it's something else, either way, he said he would call me before any work was done so I didn't have to pay extra and could take it to another shop if need be. This is the third oldest honda dealer/shop in the nation, and they have done all my work for the last 3 years...I trust the guy. I will be getting the part back, and I will be calling him tomorrow to see what's up with it. Thanks for the comments guys and keep them coming, I am on this forum a lot, but I just don't post. I will keep you posted on my bike and the temp here in south central minnesota...right now it is -11 degrees!

This whole steering damper thing is weird though. I have yet to see the headshake many owners seem to experience.
the only time it has started to come close, for me, was leaned right over on a slow-in fast-out corner with a few large bumps on exit. the combo of the power down at the back plus unsettling the front started to induce a shake. i found that it was easy to ride it out using the throttle and weight forward but i would want that in a track bike.

if you are tracking it, then i would put a dampner on the shopping list. it is the equiv of one set of tires and will make your life a whole lot easier.

I am not going to track it...maybe do a track day with my buddy or two, but nothing serious. This is going to be my main mode of transportation from the middle of March until the end of October. I will get a feel for it before I make a decision on whether or not I get one, I have heard arguments both ways, so it sounds like personal preference and I have never used a damper.

Welcome to the board and enjoy the bike. I just got my 929 back in Nov 07. My first bike. I feel really good hearing that there are guys over 6 feet riding the 929. I'm 6-5 and I have never felt uncomfortable on the 929. I was told that honda is known for its comfort.

Yeah, I'm 6'6" and I LOVE that this bike has more room!! I came from a 600, so you can imagine what that was like!! [:@] I love the trunks on these bikes too! They're HUGE!! Enjoy the new bike!! I don't think you'll be dissapointed!!
