Default Need some info on a 01 929RR, might be buying today

Hello Guys, I have a very good chance today to get 2001 CBR 929RR. The bike has 14,000 miles on it, but it doesn't run.The owner says it has no fire to the plugs. He also says he can hear the fuel pump run.He just isn't mechanicly inclined and can not afford to take it to the Honda Dealer.I can pick it up pretty cheap.I am thinking this would be a great UPGRADE FOR ME !! I have a 1994 Honda CBR 600 F2 now. Also the 929rr is an ERION RACING edition bike. I do have a question on the Erion bikes..all the pics I see of then have black frames..this bike has a satin silver aluminum frame. Is that something I should be looking into? Also what should I be checking first about the no spark? Tip over switch? Any info would be great....Thanks

Yes, ALL 929 Erion editions came with a black frame and swingarm however I have seen a bunch of people polish them, but the did come black, def worth looking into. Check the vin, i believe the normal 929s end in RR and the Erions end in RE. As far as the no spark, that could be numerous things. You said the fuel pump is working, does the bike turn over at all?

yes, the bike turns over. I went and looked at it yesterday and decided to pass on it.It had a satin normal 929 frame..it just had ERION RACING fairings put on it.The owner was trying to pass it off as an original Erion bike. The wiring harness was all spliced and taped up and the clutch and brake levers were held on with duct tape. The rear cowling by the taillight was all busted out and the taillight was held onto the bike with duct tape.....It looked to wasted and trashed for $2500 bucks.I will just keep my F2 and keep a eye out for another 929rr.
