Default need a new motor

I recently accquired an 01 cbr with a blown motor. anyway what would be the cheapest route to replacing it. will any other cbr motors work and what kind of modification will be needed. Thanks for the help. Also if anyone has a motor near Ohio they want to sell let me know[sm=smiley36.gif]

also will a cbr 600 motor with wireing harness work with modification of the motor mounts?

There's a guy in northern Va with a 929rr motor for $400.

And I would not put a 600cc motor in it. Just rebuild what you have ($$) or shop around for a used motor.

only a 929 and a 954 motor will work cause of the way the swingarm mounts to the back of the motor

Thanks for the link I just sent him an email. I just thought about the 600 motor because my dad would be a little comfortable with me riding it.
