Default need help

I was on a fast paced club ride yesterday. The bike ran great, then we stopped for lunch.
When I started off again, I noticed the exhaust had become raspy and loud under load, and the engine wasnt running as smooth as before.
I just passed 2 cars at about 7000rpm with the throttle wide open and the bike definately didnt pull like it should.
My htev servo is dead but I had it set for full open and has been fine. Not sure how this could make exhaust raspy anyway.

ideas?

I dont think that would effect your air/fuel ratio at all, but you may want to pull a plug and check it, could be getting a bit fouled.

I'm not 100% sure, but I'm almost positive that 929's are known to run rich from the factory (Mine likes to backfire small amounts when I'm running heavy throttle and then let off easily and let the motor idle down.)

Check the plugs and go from there.. Sounds like running a lil rich..

Why would running rich make it louder?? I mean, this is unbearably loud, almost like horrible knocking from the engine, but the exhaust is louder and more raspy also. I even pulled the covers today to make sure the timing chain hadn't skipped a tooth and the valves about to go through the piston. I don't know what this is but it has me worried.

I'll pull the plugs tomorrow...but why would running rich cause this, and why is it still running rich where it was fine before?

BTW, it only does this under load, above 2500rpm.
I can go wide open throttle below 2500 and lug it....no noise
Above 2500, maintainance throttle only....no noise
Above 2500, even slight acceleration....starts to get noisy
light-heavy decelleration.....no noise

It's just like if an engine was knocking from the timing being too far advanced...where it's fine when going along, but knocks under load......except it's much louder.

Thank, Phillip

maybe you arent getting enough fuel for some reason, that can make it run lean and the engine knock. do you have a pc3?

This sounds far fetched even to me, but you say the HTEV servo is dead - any chance the valve could have crept to an intermediate position? The odd exhaust "raspiness" is making me wonder....
