Hi All, my 929 has a hard misfire exactly at 7k rpm. When I say hard I really mean HARD like its hitting a rev limiter, in all gears. Below 7k it runs absolutely fine.
Bike has the flapper removed by still has the HTEV valve. I previously (before the misfire) had checked the HTEV was moving correctly at 3k and 8k.
Is there anything else the ECU does at 7k that may help narrow my search?
So the components in this image are missing? They've been missing for a period of time and you were not experiencing this issue? When did this particular issue start up? Any work prior to that?
Yes, flapper components were removed a long time and has been running strong without them.
The only other thing thats happened before the misfire is the stator went weak and ran the battery down to zero, until the bike stopped. Perhaps running low voltage could over-stress the coils and cause a failure??

With bike running use a multimeter and check voltage at battery. Should be around 15-15.5 volts at 5K rpm. If too low then the stator is bad. If too high the rectifier is bad.
