Default Might be joining the 929 family :)

Well after my accident im pretty much healed up.. and looking to replace my F4. Ive been talking to a guy on CL and he has a very clean Red and black 929 with new tires, blinkers and tail lights.

30k miles and I talked him into $3,500 im going to look at it on sunday.

anything i should look out for?

He put a shorty exhaust on it... (not a big fan of those but meh sounds ok.)

Make you you can look at the bike w/ the lower fairings removed. Fairings can hide a multitude of sins. ;-)

Verify the Title info w/ bike VIN & engine number.

Look for sealer or welding on the engine case behind and around the stator cover. When they go down, that's a weak spot that can break.

Yeah ive been doing my homework on them Ive been looking on getting race railz or a street cage.. so that will never happen to me when or if somthing happens..

and demon since you own a 929.. I like to think of it as a F4i with more power and stopping power.. it weighs the same and has the same seat height.. its like my step up i was made for. I was never going to think about a bigger than 600cc bike till I saw this and knowing its just 4 pounds heavier I was shocked. And the step seat is smaller! Which helps with me getting my leg over on the dismount.

also the steering wobble im going to pick up some bar end sliders for that too.. or should i go steering damper? Im not used to that very much my old ninja 500 had a wobble but at speeds higher than 40 it went away. Turned out being a dent in the front rim (thanks sister :/ )

They do tend to give some feedback in the bars when hard cornering. I put a scotts dampener and it feels way more stable. Mechanically, it's pretty close to the f4i, just with a larger motor and I believe a bit more aggressive position but still really comfortable. You will be shocked how much more torque it has over the 600.

I hope you get it all worked out. The 929 section could use more traffic!
Welcome to the brotherhood....
