I got a 929 FS in the classifieds $5500 2001

 

I just recently bought an '01 929 with 800 miles (yes, thats right) with a $400 helmut, battery charger, $200 jacket for $5500 here in Minnesota. I found the listing on craigslist. There were actually about 5 or 6 CBR 929's on craiglist that I was considering.

I looked at getting a gixxer 1000, but the prices here in MN are too high for me.

I recently went from an F3 to a 01 929 and its great you'll love the power and suspension. I got mine for $5500 with 4000miles, a AGV leather jacket, HJC helmet, and I think teknic boots. Plus he threw in a new oil filter and 5 quarts of honda oil. So their are good deals out there you just have to be patient and keep your eyes open for them. Good luck with your search.
