Just got a 01 929rr, want to change all the fluids. What do I need and what brands do you like. Also any other items I should be inspecting. Sorry for the noob questions. Not new to riding just been awhile. Thanks

Welcome!

Grab a copy of the workshop manual that can be found liked off this forum. It will tell you all you need about volumes and recommendations.

I have been running AMSOil 10W40 Synth to good effect. Though it may well also be overkill. What exact oil, and whether to go synth or semi-synth, to run is a matter of lots of contention.

Yeah, I had a question also about the radiator fluid. Does it matter what kind is used?? Has anyone had any luck with the additives?? Running cooler??

don't use the long life orange coolant: GM found out the hard way that the stuff eats gaskets not specifically designed for the orange stuff. i think all green coolant is the same thing, just make sure it's 50/50 when you put it in. I HIGHLY recommend you change the coolant, brake fluid, motor oil without even second guessing it. it's an 8 yr old bike and who knows when the stuff was changed last.

as for what to use, what's already been said: whatever you want, you'll get a million different opinions...

see below for manual if you don't already have it
