Default issues with the 929!!

are there any?

im looking at getting a 2001 cbr 929rr. i know some bikes like the r6-r1 had their issues in 98-01 and am wondering if there is anything i need to be on the lookout for when buying my 929. so what have you owners found for problems, if any? what have you liked or disliked? let me know please....

thanks!

stator can go.
Get a steering dampner before you find out why I made this suggestion
Pc to smooth out the power delivery

Pretty solid, reliable fun bike otherwise.

I agree with the stator, but as for the dampner... Its not really necessary, I guess it depends on your preference and riding style.

the bike has a scotts damper on it. is their a cause for the stator to go on the 929s, or is it just its week point?

Well if you read through the threads in this forum you will see "Stator Problems" a lot. When I first got mine the I had to replace the stator within the first week. Its not a big issue as a new one should last a while.

Stator problems seem to be an inherent problem with Honda. That being said I' ve owned a VFR, F4, and a 929 and never had a problem.
+1 on the power commander to smoothout the powerband.
The 929 is the most fun bike I've owned. About the same weight as my F4 and much faster!!

almost 30,000 miles on mine and never had a problem, never replaced anything but the sparkplugs, oil and chain and sprokets, as for the stator problem never had a problem with mine (knock on wood)

I havn't had any problems with mine at all...except for some reason, the front wheel likes to stay in the air.
