I need help
Hey everyone i am a new rider, 2 days a go i got a flat on my 929RR. I took my back wheel off today to take it to the tire shop, ok this might sound kind of stupid but its alright, i need to know, i have never worked on bikes before but i am not the type to take my toys to the shop, plus i live in the boonies so any shop is at least 1 hour away, well back to my question, when i took off my wheel the sprocket came off and some rubber pieces fell out, I need to know how they go because the scattered everywhere, I just need to know which side the 2 rubber pins should face, the rim or the sprocket? if anyone knows, i would really appreciate it, thanks.
i believe the pointy sides facr towards the rim .. but honestly i dont remember. i had the same probelm when i took my rear tire off, i just cant remember which way but if i saw the rubber pieces again id know ... sorry i cant be of any help lol
That's the rubber "cush drive" pieces that absorbs the shock induced at the rear sprocket under acceleration. I was about to say they can only go in one way butwho knows without playing with it!
Place them on the wheel firstas in this photo.
Happy riding, hopefully no more flats, that can really suck. I've only had twoflats in over 15 years but both times I was way out in nowhereland. I now carry a small DC air compressor and patch kit in my trunk on street rides.
