I'm looking at a 2000 Honda CBR 929. It's yellow and black and is in excellent condition beside a few very tiny scratches on the passenger seat cowl. It has 18,000 miles on it and is a one owner and never been laid down.

Chrome Triple Tree
Polished Frame
Two Brothers Exhaust
K&N Air Filter
Tinted Targa Wind Screen
Under Tail
Fender Eliminator

The only thing that might need replaced is the front tire but it's still got some tread left.

What should I look to pay for this bike. I've him down to $5500.00 but would love to get it a little cheaper. If I buy this bike around $5000.00 and keep it for a year and put around 3K miles on it do you think I could get $5000.00 back out of it.

i bought my 00 with 6k miles.....a full d&d, undertail fender elim, rear hugger new rear tire, etc coat helmet and gloves for $4900 back in august.....now the season is over you should be able to get a better price than that

With stock gearing (16 front, 43 rear) you can expect (assuming you are a pro) about a 10.35 quarter at around 140, 80 in first at the rev limiter, 130 in third and maybe 168 or so top end. (Yeah - close ratio trans!)
Mine's geared 16 front 42 rear.

 

PS - and from what I've seen, $5 grand wouldn't be a disaster. A year from now with over 20k, hard to say.

 

I really want this bike but I'm just kinda affaid of the high miles because if I get it I'm gonna put alot of miles on it! I'm just looking ahead to see what it might bring 2 years down the road with about 21,000 on it. What do you think I would be able to get out it with 21K on her 2 years down the road? Thanks!
