Hot left side cover
Strange question but how hot does your left side engine cover (stator cover) get after 20 mins of pretty mild riding? I just got off of mine and realized that the cover would burn my hand if i held it there for more than a second or two...
it shouldn't get that hot that quick, right? there's nothing there but rotating parts???

It has oil circulating through it, I wonder if your oil is getting too warm? The stator sits in there, I wouldn't think it would heat up too bad. I've never actually nelt down to feel my stator cover after a ride. But I changed the gasket once after riding from my house to the shop...which would be about 20 min, and DAMN did that oil hurt like hell, now that I think about it, the cover was hot too. Keep an eye on it, to see if it starts warping. One of the best ways to detect a warp is oil seaping from between the cover and the block. Honestly, I think it's normal. If you can hold your hand on there for 2 seconds it's not as hot as you think it is.
