RE: high idle when start up help
wow my bike has the same problem almost, my idle is like 2k rpm untill it reaches 126 deg+ then the idle drops to normal. im wondering have you messed with the idle screw at all ? mayb eyou can just lower it manually so when its idling you dont have to wait so long. you deffinetly shouldnt have to wait for your bike to cycle through the fan before you can ride

idle is fine once it goes threw thoses cycle i listed above it idels fine when i turn it up and it warmed up say i go out the next day to start it the idle is high again and then it has to cycle i havent check the thermo yet i was thinking of bypassing the choke set up by useing one coolant hoseinstead of the two that go into the unit that controls the idel on start up

ok i found out the problem i took the wax valve 'choke' apart and cleaned it,it controls the idle when warmingup it has two coolant line going into it one from the block and one from thestat housing the idle screw mounts to it it had a lot of **** in it clean the holes then thespring inside of it and the housing out, good as new for now i still need to clean the system out

Yeah I cleaned the shiite outta my wax unit, fuel lines, fuel rail and injectors when I was tearing it apart.
The difference it made at low RPM power was unmistakable. No to mention I no longer dreaded anyone hearing my bike idle...
Good stuff, thanks for keeping us posted.

One more quickie - adjust your idle only after you've warmed your engine. In other words, don't fire it up first thing in the morning and start fiddling with your idle.
You probably know that given the troubleshooting methods you've described above - but just to be safe...
That damn idle screw is a bitch to get back in the wax unit unless you just pop the friggin' tank off... which isn't a huge PITA but I was trying to hurry that day, okay? It was getting nice out and I ****ed up, I'm sorry.
Jeez... some people...
