RE: headers-stock or aftermarket
Yeah i know i will probably never be able to use all of the power but i want more anyway. I would like to be able to kep up with the new bikes. I'm planning on the power commander, port & polish, maybe bigger valves, jet coated headers, eliminate the htv valve?

If you really like the 929 then go ahead and do it... or if you just want to do it for the pure fun of doing it... but before you go and sink alot of money into the 929 to keep up to the new bikes, it's probably cheaper to just buy a newer bike and/or find new friends .
There are good reasons and bad reasons for putting money into a bike. If you REALLY like the bike and want it for the long term - certainly it's an investment... if you just are wanting to keep up or a bit more fun, save the money, and 'step up' when you have enough money to buy a newer bike. Otherwise you will just toss away the money that you can never get back out of it... a modded bike doesn't sell for much more than a non-modded bike, sometimes less.

I like the 929 & plan on keeping it. I also have another head i got off ebay. I'm shooting for 150 hp @ the wheel, from what i have seen on this forum i think it's possible. Velocity stacks are worth a few ponies aren't they? I don't need it all right now but a peice here or there. You know how it is, just time & money.

if you're going to nickle an dime yourself keep in mind that every time you do a major mod you're going to have to get your pc3 remapped. I charge $128.50 to remap a pc3, and that's cheap compared to the other guys around here. Best bet is to get it put on a dyno before your mods to get your base, then take it in to have everything done at once and put on the dyno again so you can realy see/feel the difference. and it'll save you some money for the long run.
