Default H.I.S.S, cutting a new key.

Got a CBR929 awhile back and it only came with one key. How do I go about cutting a new key. Do I take it to the honda dealer and they can program a new one for me or am I screwed? I dont have the metal tag with the code so that sucks.
Any help will be cool. Thanks.

Take your key to a locksmith, they should be able to make a key off your current key or if you just take the bike they have a tool they can stick into the lock and make it from that. Shouldn't cost to much, just take 30minute or less. So no worries mate.

My bike has a HISS (I'm in Australia)system so a convetional key wont work. I've read in other forums that with HISS ignitions you need the metal tag attached to the key (which I dont have)so as to make a copy. I'm just wondering if I can take my original transpoder key and then the dealership scans it and makes a copy for me?

hmmmm. I'm not to familiar with that sort of system. I don't see why they couldn't code another key. Take your bike or your VIN to your dealer they should be able to get what they need from that to code another key for you.

I actually had my key snap off in the gas gap, fortunately I was able to pull the piece that broke off out the cap and was able to call a lock smith who came out and was able to make me a key the spot. I got 2 keys made for like eighty bucks, was woth it to me.
