I'm not a pro, but I was looking into the same thing this past summer... You have a single bulb low beam, so you'll need a single bulb HID kit. Color tint will depend on what color temp (higher = more purple, 8000K=blue: lower is brighter lighting). THE MOST IMPORTANT PART is the projector. All the websites will tell you this is a plug and play set up, but really, you'll only get the full benefits of HIDs if you rig up a projector from another vehicle (say, an acura TSX). If you don't use the projector you won't see that great of a lighting gain and you'll just **** off everyone in front of you, which in my opinion, I don't need to be any more of a target than I already am.

do a search here, I found a ton of info. Also search fireblades.org. One of these two sites had a post where someone actually went through and built the projector with pics and all.

I have an HID kit in my bike. I ordered a kit from http://www.aandrmotorsport.com/store/
I have the 6000K bulb and all I did was call them and talked to Rob, he put a single bulb kit together for me and I think it was around $95 shipped. It also comes with a relay, it is important to have a kit with a relay so you don't burn up your wiring. HID's only use like 35 watts while running but the start up power is very high. If you want to see pics, just PM me and I will take some and send them to you.

I ordered a kit off ebay that was 80 bucks shipped. Itcame with 2 ballast and two bulbs. Since I am only using the low beam so nowI have an extra bulb and ballast if anything happens. The kit was cheaper that some single beam kits so it made sense to get the dual kit. Anyways the install was real easy definatley plug n play. The most tim consuming part was figuring out where to mount the ballast. i but it in the ram air duct at the bottom so it isn't blocking any air commin in. Also I had to add a o-ring on the base of the bulb or else the bulb retainer wouldn't of held the bulb tight enough. The only thing I need to do now is add a swith for the low beam. Cause the low beam turns on when u put the key to on and then go out when u crank the motor and the back on. This is really bad on the ballast/igniter.
h7 8000k kit < perfect color in my opinion

thanks for all the great suggestions. so from what i see in these postsi need to get a kit with a relay and get a projector to get the full effect, but i guess the projector has to go inside my headlight housing? im not even sure if it comes apart. has anyone tried to use a projector from a car on a 929? if so please post info/pics thanks. also dizzy929 do you have any links or pics of the kit you got?

I bought my 8000k on ebay for about $110 shippedand they are working great so far for the about 5 months they have been installed on my 06 600rr. The 8000k have a great blue color to them but also are very bright on the road.

you know what, I may have seen the projector mount project done for the headlights for my truck and not for the bike. my bad.

yes, you would need to tear into the sealed part of the headlight reflectors to mount a projector. It can be done, but it'd be tricky.

It's not a bike, but this is the project i was referencing, and you can def. learn all that would be required to do the HID install right.

I don't have a projector on my bike, but I don't think I need it. The HID's are bight enough without it. The only thing im thinking of doing is putting another set of HID's in my high beams for dark country roads I have to ride sometimes.

Also, if you don't get a kit with a relay, your wiring harness won't catch fire within the first year but it will damage it.

I don't think youneed to go through the hassle of instaling prjectors. Itsto costly and to much of a hassle.Just adjust your low beam down so u don't blind on coming cars.I dont have the link or pics of the kit i bought but just go on ebay and search h7 hid kit. You will find hundreds and there all about the same quality. Like I said I got mine for 80 shipped direct from china, and shipping only took 5days.They also have kits with slimm balast that would be easier to conceal but those seemed to be a bit more pricey.
