Default Gilles Tooling "shiftholder" support bracket

Has anyone tried this product out? Theymake them for Yamaha R6 and CBR 929/954 apparently.Claims are smoother shifting under aggressive shifting and less mis-shifts.

I just happened to stumble across it while looking at other Gilles Tooling products on the net. I'm not sure stabilizing the little bit of flex in the shift rod that the gear shift linkage attachesto will doall that muchtoprevent the occasional mis-shift I get under hard downshiftingbut I'm curious now. I've got one on orderand will throw some feedback out there when I get the chance to play with it.

I have one on my 1000RR and I do not notice it at all. However, that is a good thing as I also do not have any misshifts either. Maybe due to the shift holder, maybe not. But I won't be taking it off anytime soon.

i use one!!-but most of the time i do not use the clutch for upshifts-this device prevents
the shift shaft from flexing under these conditions-when i shift gears it feels alot more
positive-i will warn you that the way it mounts will push your kick-stick out slightly
if you have aftermarket rear-sets it might turn into a bitch to mount-imho,this support
bracket is worth its own weight in gold-i am a 54 rider-29's basically the same thing
what ever you decide-good luck

Thanks for the feedback, I do have aftermarket rear sets so I guess I'll see how that works out!

maybe it is me, but i don't find shifting is a problem on the 929. i find the action positive, no false neutrals and easy to clutchless shift. maybe i am just not aggressive enough

I didn't either until around 20,000 miles and doing more track days. I'm sure it's my own fault things are worn, I tend to quickly stomp[sm=bounceybounce.gif]through the gears on downshifting if riding at a fast pace and sometimes it now bounces in to a false neutral goingin to second gear. Maybe if I practiced the Jason Pridmore method of loading the gear shifter with a touch of foot pressurejust before shifting I'd be getting less wear & tear!
