General Maintenance.
Sorry to bombard ya'll with questions , but i am kinda up in the air as far as maintenance.. What generally needs to be done when on this bike.. I've put about 700 miles which puts it darn near the 10,000 mark.. I just want to make sure i'm taking care of it properly so it lasts for a long long while .. Ideas/suggestions would be appericiated.

RE: General Maintenance.
Three suggestions, actually - ones that I would advise everybody to consider....
1 - If your bike came with no Honda Owner's Manual ( the little book that fits in the trunk ), order one for 20 bucks from the dealer. It answers a surprizing number of questions like the ones you're asking.
2 - Go to www.stephygee.com/ and have a look at his 929 shop manual and Illustrated Parts Catalogue. You can download it free, and if you are as crazy as I am, you can print it if you've got two toner cartrdges and 2 reams of paper!!
3 - Get the Haynes manual. Ebay, search "cbr929 manual". This is probably the best single thing you can do. It has most of the Shop Manual info, and Haynes takes the time to explain how most of the systems work ( which the Shop Manual DOESN'T) And Haynes explains how to check each system and component and explains why you're doing it.
Arming yourself with a little knowledge will either help you fix it yourself, or help you deal intelligently with a mechanic or dealership.

RE: General Maintenance.
Plugs would be a good idea soon
CR9EHIX-9 is the part # for iridium NGK's.
Check the air filter. If you have a K&N or BMC, clean it with filter oil & cleaning kit and re-install. Well worth the $$$ for the BMC street filter.
other than that, you're fine.
10,000 miles is nothing. Hondas run forever if you keep up on general maintenance.
Oh, and sixs929, FYI, Stephygee is a girl

edit: +1 on the haynes manual. the downloadable manual is great (and free! thanks stephygee) but i'd rather take a book out to the garage with me than my computer.

RE: General Maintenance.
The densos work fine, but the NGK's are cheaper, and they work just as good.
I needed a new set, and the ones my mechanic had were like 18.00 a plug... I found out that those were a non-iridium plug from NGK, and the iridiums were about 11.00 a piece.
the Denso Iridiums are about $6-7.00 more each, and there is no difference in performance.
check www.clubplug.net
I think that was the site... been a while. I might be a little wrong on the prices, but I know the NGK iridiums were less $
