Fireblade 929 no spark

Hi
i am new to the forum my name is Baz I am having problems after fitting a new frame to my 929 everything worked before I fitted new frame but now it’s not sparking. The coils are getting 12v on the black white wire and when cranking the other one pulses a earth but not spark. Also any one know what the f1 error codes are . Any idea would be appreciated
cheers Baz.

Hi Baz welcome to the forum,
Have a look here
StephyGee.com
But remember this manual is for USA bikes ,just the same as ours but they dont have Hiss, take a look at the fault codes and come back with your questions.:)

No spark

Thanks for that I will take a look

hi
has anyone got any information on a cbr 929 I am looking to fit a USA ECU to my UK bike . does it require any wiring mods?
cheers

74demon 05-04-2019 11:01 AM

You will need a USA ignition switch with the diode,. You may run into harness differences also.

Baz123bikes 05-04-2019 11:41 AM

thanks for the reply.

CaBaRet 05-05-2019 04:47 AM

Kal has a few video's, this might help

Baz123bikes 05-06-2019 04:57 AM

thank you

Baz123bikes 05-06-2019 05:02 AM

another weird thing is it normal for the clock display to light up when I press the brake light [ with the ignition on ]
cheers

CaBaRet 05-06-2019 05:07 AM

Does that happen with both brake lever and foot pedal

74demon 05-06-2019 05:18 AM

Nope. It's not supposed to do that. Your brake light circuit is crossed with your illumination circuit. I'd bet there is more wrong with the lights than just that.

Baz123bikes 05-06-2019 12:09 PM

yes it happens when I press either brake.
cheers

Baz123bikes 05-06-2019 12:51 PM

all lights work as they should all connections are plug and play. cant go wrong the bike is a UK bike with HISS. the only reason I mentioned this is I am still getting no spark and thought it may be linked.
cheers

CaBaRet 05-06-2019 12:53 PM

pull out the fuse protecting the signals and brake light and see if it still happens . (10amp fuse "C")

74demon 05-06-2019 01:32 PM

Stock tail light?

Think we should go back to the start Baz, is your original ecu buggered or was it working previously, if so I'm sure we can get round that , it just might be a case of relays and earths causing your problem

Baz123bikes 05-08-2019 07:14 AM

pulled the fuse and clocks don't light up when brake is pressed.
all lights are stock.
regarding the ECU it was all working fine until I swapped the frame all the connections went back as they should tried starting it and turned over but wouldn't start I did all the usual checks and found there was no spark the fuel pump primes .
I know all the earth points are good . I have heard of ECU just stopping working on 929s but wanted to check everything ells before buying another expensive ECU.
cheers

CaBaRet 05-08-2019 07:22 AM

Reckon you have a crossover somewhere on the brake line , multi meter or test lamp time, spark at the plugs could be something else, dont like to think its the ECU , have you checked ignition pulse sensor

Baz123bikes 05-08-2019 08:02 AM

yes checked both ign and cam sensors . its a strange one. I just don't believe a ECU can just pack up for no reason.

CaBaRet 05-08-2019 08:11 AM

Have you tried back probing the Green wire at the ecm for continuity to ground , and the same with back probing the Black/White wire at the ECU for voltage, just to prove there's continuity and 12v at the ECU

CaBaRet 05-08-2019 08:34 AM

Just had another thought , check the central earthing point, its buried in the loom about the engine cylinder area , you will have to cut open the harness cover , but take care not to cut any wires , if that connector is burnt out it could be your trouble

Baz123bikes 05-08-2019 09:04 AM

tired all the above. The ECU is getting power and earth it reads the his key and primes the fuel pump. I will go over everything again just to make sure I haven't missed something.
cheers for all suggestions
will update when I have something to add.

CaBaRet 05-08-2019 09:18 AM

I'd bet on that central earthing point being the culprit, open it up and look at the connections after you re-installed the harness one might be broken the Ignition pulse Generator unloads straight into that on Earth, here's hoping

74demon 05-08-2019 09:24 AM

As for the lights, check the tail bulbs. When one of the filaments breaks, sometimes it can lay across the other filament causing the circuit to cross.

Baz123bikes 05-18-2019 07:01 AM

thanks for everyone's help with this fault unfortunately it looks like it must be the ECU as I have tried everything ells and cant get hold of another ECU to check on the bike and not willing to spend £500
on a secondhand one. so have decided to part the bike out.
thanks again
Baz

CaBaRet 05-18-2019 07:13 AM

Hi Baz ,still dont believe its the ECU, did you check the Hiss signal and voltage to the ECU from the Halo connection? be a shame to give up on it, can keep going until you dont want to any more:)
