Default Finally finished it

Well here it is another winter project all done.

Red and white when i bought it, messed up subframe and fairing panels, the only original part on the body is the tank.

Now i need some advice. When i drained the oil tonight there was gas mixed with the oil. What would cause that and where do i need to start looking at to get it fixed? When i bought it it hadnt ran for a couple of years and i dont know the history of it. I changed the oil and filter and it seems to be running fine with no smoke or excess fuel smell.

I am on the other spectrum.. I think the seats are hideous. Where did the rear hugger go?? Put the rear hugger back on.

I'm not sure what year the 929 went to EFI but if yours is still carburated then the gas in the oil is likely caused by leaking needle valves.
Nice job on the build. Very patriotic.

The hugger hasnt arrived yet. I did try a stainless chain guard and stuff but it just doesnt look right at all.

As for the seats, with those plastics the black seats just didnt look right so i opted for that design thats on it as it ties in with the rest of the bike...... But thats why stuff like that is personal, its all about your taste..... or lack of

about the black seats looking out of place.

Onto the stitching. The "929" stitched into the passenger seat is what looks horrid. The stitching is poorly done and not straight. I like the colors and the "CBR" on the front seat BUT, it is your personal taste, or lack there of, that put that on there.

About the hugger, what do you mean it hasn't arrived yet?? It was on the bike in the "before picture" at the end. Agreed that stainless steel wouldn't look right. Red would be a good choice like what was one before...

@JeffCBR600F2.... No carburation around these parts for the 929's.

All 929's are fuel injected. Sounds like you have a bad fuel pressure regulator. Do a search on youtube for 954 fuel pressure regulator and watch the video. It is very easy to check.

Usually gas in th Crankcase happens when fuel sits in th piston chambers which eventually seeps past th rings. Th only way I see this might have happened is if while working on ur bike u had th ignition on which primed th system, loaded th fuel an a bad FPR constantly dumped fuel into th chambers. Since u didn't turn th bike on, th fuel jus sat there an eventually found its way past th rings. Only scenario I can think of with fuel injection.

The hugger you see in the last picture was all cracked and looked terrible, so I tried the stainless stuff. Don't like it much so I ordered a new, red ( funnily enough), hugger the other day. None of the panels on the before picture were good I had to scrap the lot and start again, you just can't see it well on the pic.

Thanks also for the info on the fpr guys turns out it was bad so got a new one of those coming to.

The red hugger looks good and runs good with the rest of the fairings.
