Default Clutch Issue...

I have a question about my clutch assembly. The problem that I am having with the clutch is that I can shift in to 1st and 2nd gear but I can't get passed that. Does anyone have any clue on what it could be and what part that I need to replace???

Definitely sounds like a tranny issue (no, not the cross dressing kind).

You need your shift forks adjusted. Don't think it can be done without splitting the cases but don't quote me on that.

Yhea I adjusted them in my 1000f this summer when I went thru the engine. Its very simple once you've got her guts all laid out on the table. Here is a tip I can pass along to everyone. If you happen to to have your shift forks out give them a special little treat and debur any sharp edges on the end of the fork. Next take a heatgun and warm the forks up to @ 150 degrees and dip the ends in some Moly Grease. [Use the Hi-Temp stuff] Once they are cool wipe off any excess. The moly will penatrate the steel down into the pores of the metal and never come out. It makes for some very smooth shifting. I've logged about 2000 mi since doing this and it still shifts silky smooth. Hey man its winter get yourself a good manual and get busy. Its winter and you can't really ride much anyway. I've got the 954 torn apart now, she is gettin some go-fast goodies this Christmas. can't wait for spring.
