Default Chain and Sprocket Kits?

Well, I'm sorry if this isa repost, but what I needed to know is....

What do you guys think about doing a 520 conversion quick acceleration kit for sprockets?? I'm sure a lot of you have them, but what do you think?? Does it make the bike feel a lot better?? If so, where's the best place to order?? And do you think it would be wise to go with steel vs.aluminum on the sprockets?? I'm contemplating this as a mod, so any information that you can give would be appreciated! Thanks!

I put on a 520 kit but it was not the quick acceleration kit. I used factory gearing on a steel rear sprocket. Have had no trouble since install other than a little noise from the rubber swingarm protectors being too large for the chain.

I dont see the point to making the chain smaller/skinnier on a street bike.. I went -1 in the front and stayed with a 530 did chain and used a Sunstar steel sprocket. the allum. get chewed up very fast and will need to be replaced way before a steel would

If you take good care of your alum sprocket it will last a while, keep chain clean and proper tension. I love my driven sprockets, 5k miles so far and looks like new, and i beat the hell out of it i can assure you. Thats not to say steel wouldnt last longer though.

i dont buy chain kits for any of my bikes, i just buy the sprockets i want and the chain i want for my own kit.

best set up ive ran so far is vortex front sprockets, on RK520 chain with supesprox trimetal rear sprockets.

screw alinumin sprockets on any bike.

520 kits are not a good choose imo i see alot of them come in at my shop and are hammered. i would notsuggest it. as far as aluminum sprockets go i would never put them on any of my bikes. irun steelseven on my supermoto bike they wear outto fast. if it's time for chain and sprockets i would suggest steel sprockets and aNICE chain (not cheap you get what you pay for) keep it lubed and adjusted and you will be fine
my 2 cents

I'll go with a steel sprocket then when it's time. I'm also a little weary about doing the front sprocket mod as I'll need a speadohealer as well. Does anyone have any suggestions on a good chain?? Also, how many links for our bikes (with a 16T and 15T front sprocket)?? Thanks alot for all the information!!

I have had Horrible experience with RK... was constantly stretching and always had to be
adjusted (i don't ride that hard either)

I will Only Use "D.I.D" now and love them ( came stock).. right now i have the DID Pro and could not be happier..

I want to say the length is 108, someone correct me if i'm wrong

Who is it on Ebay that sells the wheelie kit for 95 bucks...Thrust Co. makes the sprockets.2 ways I see this....for only 95 bucks you can swap once a year if needbe. Personally I wouldn't go alum, and as for 520 yeah there's a difference but will you really notice on the street, maybe if you got the dyno in your *** like some do. Not me. BigM let us know what you decide. You've been here a while(day or 2 longer then I, LOL) I've gone back and forth but will stay 530. Always thought -1+3
