Default Be CAREFUL what you buy!!

What it is my 929 peoples!! So I got a forced upgrade (someone jacked my F3) to a 2000 929RR. Found it out in craigslist for 3200...needed new rotors n she was ready to go. So I'm riding down to work one day going onto the freeway and brake fast and start fishtail!! Scared the mess outta me so I take a chill ride to work and stop at a bike shop and tell em what happen. A guy comes out grabs my back wheel and literally slides it back n forth. Apparently I was missing a wheel spacer and the sprocket bolts and hub where grinding straight into my swingarm!!!!

But I been workin on my mechanic skills...gettin the hang of it. Had to replace the swingarm which was pretty fun. The shop told me over 1000...only cost me around 250. Took a couple pictures. Make sure you check for the little things...I know I will!!

Believe it or not, This is a common occurance. The previous owner of my track 929 did the same thing. Also a guy I know did it to his 99 900RR as well.

You could have repaired the damaged arm though, Mine was taken to a welder and filled back in. Can barely tell there was damage to begin with.

That sucks! Could have been a lot worse though. I wish you posted this before you bought the new swingarm. I've got a spare lying around the garage. But I agree, you always gotta check out every little thing when you buy something, I usually bring a buddy with me in case i miss something. Good luck with the repairs!
