Default Busted Lower Crankcase

Wussup everybody. I lowsided my 01 929. Busted the stator cover and put a hole in the lower half crankcase. Just curious if anyone could tell me where I could find a used lower crankcase. Any info would be great. Thanks, Nate.

similar thing happened to my bike, when i bought it, the stator cover and part of the crank case was busted. i spent a long time looking for a crank case, but then a bunch of motorcycle shops were pointing me towards machining shops to get it welded and the bolt holes retapped. $110 later, she's good as new, might be worth looking around at some machine shops in your neighborhood.

same thing here.. but i bought it that way and they tried to j.b weld it.. then i droped it and busted out the jb weld.. ended up making a rubber plug out of high temp stuff not just any rubber.. used silicone and the stator cover to hold it in place. hasent leaked yet! good idea about the machine shop 110 aint bad.

had mine welded worked great. you will need a , m, 20, 1.5 right hand thread bolt. to pull rotor off. drain oil, remove rad hoses, pull battery, un hook computer. for safety, make sure it goes to a metal fabrication, and welding, shop, or aircraft welder. good luck

From what he told me, he had to heat up the crank case, and he tig (dont know if i spelled that right) weld the crank case in the broken spot, he built up the broken spot, grinding it into shape after each weld. Then he had to tap a new bolt hole, and it was done, i can upload some pictures if you would like, i just have the after shots, but u can see what he has done.
