I broke my key off in my ignition tonight, but I can stick the top of the broken off key into my ignition and it still starts, as long as I have it in the right way. My question is, can a locksmith extract that key? I have an extra key so Im not too worried about that. I work next to a locksmith, so I am going to take it to him in the morning, just wondering if you guys have experienced this before??

 

So far haven't broken an ignition key, but one thing for sure - there's NOTHING a locksmith can't handle. You'll be amazed, I promise. Fear not.

 

It's tough for a locksmith to get it out, let me know I had it happpen to me and got it out myself after paying the locksmith 45 bucks for nothing.

 

took it to the locksmith next door to where I work, he took it out, and made me a new key for $10, it always pays to be known
