Default Advice when shopping for 01 929 ?

Hello

I have been around the CBR forum for a year or so - mostly in the old CBR600 section. I am looking to buy an 01 CBR929 from a friend of a friend this week possibly. It has been babied its whole life - only has like 6000 miles on it. I am a bit concerned about buying it since I know nothing about this model or its common problems. It has a full aftermarket exhaust system that I am not crazy about (Akrapovic) but it is not too loud, and has flush mounted turn signals and a bunch of other cosmetic upgrades. What sort of things should I look for if I am thinking about buying this bike? I am in the Philadelphia PA area and he is asking $4500... what do you think of the price?

THANKS

pics? But I see about 3800-4000 for that bike, maybe 4200 depending on how clean it is. Nothing major goes bad on these bikes, the good old honda CCT, and some have problems with the R/R.
Let us know what happens

Prices for those bikes are around $4000.00 Common problems are like stated above and if you want to get rid of that exhaust maybe we can work something out.

Price could be a little high perhaps but the mileage is nice. My girlfriend just bought one with 20k for 3200 in good shape. Some scuffs from parking lot mishaps but no wrecks. All stock non-molested. Bought it from a dealer as well so that wasn't private party price. That was also asking price, not negotiated, but we figured we got a good enough deal anyway

Thanks... I am going to buy it this weekend. I just got back from looking at it again. It has just one tiny scratch on the whole bike, so with the low miles I am OK paying $4500 for it... in my section of PA used sportbikes are pretty pricey compared to other parts of the country, so I am happy to pay less than a dealer would charge around here. I just priced out an 04 CBR600F4i (15K miles) today at a dealer and it would have been $5727 out the door with tax and tags! Like one of you guys said, it is not a bad price and I didn't want the bike to get away so I am happy. Will post up some pics when I get it home. It is the black red paint scheme, which I like - but I think I am going to put some stock turn signals back onto the bike... I know a lot of people like those tiny flush mounted ones, but I can hardly see them - I don't know how other drivers can see them!
