This is what you will need.

1. 954 Swingarm

2. 954 Linkage (triangular piece)

3. 954 Rear brake holder

4. 954 Chain Slider

5. 954 Right Side Collar

6. 954 Right side Inner Bearing (all other bearings and seals are the same part #'s)

7. 929 Dogbone

8. 929 Rear Shock

9.The chain gaurds are the same but you can get a hugger.

it is a direct swap. i did it on my 929RR. i was also lucky enough to get a 954 swingarm off ebay with the hugger and all the bearings already inside it so I did not have to worry about removing them from my 929 swingarm and swapping in the ones needed.

doesnt change the handling. some people say the 954 swingarm is lighter and stronger but i dont ride the bike to its limits to notice the difference. it does look a bit better though because of the hugger

this is pretty much the best picture I have of it. it looks pretty much the same. I got it mostly for the spools and also when on a rear stand, even with no spools, the bike is not leaned over to one side like it used to be with the stock 929 swingarm, just how they were made

Bam bam, I have an '01 929RR with stock swingarm...I have spools and a spool stand and a rear fender. Easier to mod what you have than be paying for a total swap out. I'll try to show pics of my bike and what I did.

From What I understand, the 929's swingarm is stiffer and stronger than the 954s, thought the 954s is lighter. Apparently Honda thought the 929 was too stiff laterally, and they reduced the lateral stiffness of the frame and swinger to make it easier to control when leaned over. When the bike's leaned over, road loads feed more into the chassis then the suspension, and that means the stiffness of the bike's chassis has to be tuned for optimal performance. I found that in this sport rider article. Pretty cool.

Hi Guys

l dont mean to hijack this thread, lve just purchased a swing arm to do this conversion. l just wanted to know about the triangular piece, do l just need them on there own or do i need the bar that attaches to it as well?

thanks for any help in advance.
