RE: 929 upgrades?
I agree I personally wouldn't go to over board with it. Gearing changes is going to give you the best feel of the pants power. A power commander isn't going to do anything noticable unless you have a full exhaust. If you really want it to be faster without doing motor work put some machnesium wheels on it but honestly if you want to be faster invest in some trackdays. They will do a world of difference in how you ride.

In terms of full throttle and more power you are right, it buys you nothing. For day-to-day liveability and the kind of riding I do (more akin to sports touring than to outright scratching) it has brought a big smile to my face.

RE: 929 upgrades?
I have a PCIII on my 929 w/ nothing but a two brothers can, and i love the way it handles. Go to http://www.morepoweracing.com for the PCIII if you get it. It will be $260 (includes shipping).
Way cheaper than anywhere else ya'll find. These are brand new!!

RE: 929 upgrades?
I will have to agree on the gearing change, i recently took off my -1 front sproket and went back to the stock 16 tooth, I definetly feel the difference. it lost that snappyness it had and feels slightly slower when ripping through gears. But it feels smoother when acelerating out of a hard turn with the stock sproket..
If you do go for the sproket change try and stay with a steel sproket, i hasd the renthall 15 tooth and it was alluminum, the reason i took it off was becaus ethe teeth had grinded down and rounded out, and was destroying my chain...
As for the headlights, Im not sure what hey look like buti think the easiest way to do that would probably be to buy the upper race cowl without the headlights cut and fab them to that, but it sounds like it would be more trouble then its worth, I love the 929 headlight the way it is...but thats just me
Good luck with the projecct

RE: 929 upgrades?
im thinking of changing it over but at the same time keeping it...i want to do the HID conversion on all lights if i do keep it normal and i wanna kinda do the trick look with the blinker bulbs in that top point of the headlight anyone know of that? what about a decent trick halo eye that would fit the 929 headlight...they worth doing if anyone has ever done one for a 929? as for more power...i would likea little more low and mid range power bump...would i just be best doing a power commander...k&n filter and exhaust from the HTEV valve back?

RE: 929 upgrades?
As far as the boost in low and midrange, then the easiest way is to get the 15
tooth front sprocket, Just make sure its a steel sproket not alluminum
(alum. is lighter but steel is stronger & will last) ex. SunStar sprokets
BMC air filter (forum rumors have it, its better then the k&n)
and a power commander with the proper map, dloaded from: http://www.powercommander.com/powercommander_iii_usb/powercommander_all_downloads.aspx?mk=7&mdl=42& amp;yr=2001
For the headlight i was thinking of doing the same thing with the led's in the
corners. if you do a search on here theres a page with a link to a write-up on it,
EDIT: here it is: http://www.cbr929rr.com/brow.htm
Theres also headlight decals like this.... http://www.isitfast.com/cbr_929_rr_headlight_covers.htm
