929 things to look out for

As always, the cct is a weak point for the 929, i just replaced mine with an APE manual cct and would reccomend it when yours goes out (and it will go out). they only cost $60 and it took my shop an hour to install and adjust. Also, the front end tends to get a little loose(wobbles) when your pushing it, so id reccomend a steering damnpner. Other than that theyre awesome bikes and enjoy it. Its lighter than my 91 600 f2 was with a helluva lot more power.

I didn't think that the cct was an issue here but i could be wrong. I will deff get a steering dampener. Thanks for the info. it should be a nice step up from my F4i.

would Ohlins be the way to go on the 929?

yea, ohlins makes awesome....everything. Especially thier dampners. My buddy has one on his 954 and he won't ride one without it. the only drawback is the price ($750 for the one i was looking at). this seems to be the last cbr with cct problems, and some never have any problems with them. as i said i just replaced mine with an APE manual one. I know of several instances where its replaced with a new honda auotomaic one and they go out after a few thousand miles.

yea man.. Ohlins is maddd xpensive but superior. I'll just have to see how it goes with cct.

Any damper is better than NO damper. Ohlins definitely makes good products. I have a Scotts that I picked up used for a decent price. Has saved my bike a couple of times.

yea, scotts is good too, i think they make the factory dampners that come on repsol edition 1000rr, so that definetly backs up thier quality

ill prolly do a scotts.. i heard if **** hits the fan, there is no possibility of it impailing you unlike the Ohlins. lol
