Ok so i just got done doing the rod bearings and the main bearings and head gasket in my 2001 cbr 929! i got it put back together by the book and to spec! so i got the motor assemble and got it in the bike! i cranked it and it started right up, no smoke, no missing! but there is this loud whinning noise coming from it! its a deep whine! its pretty much sounds like a super charger on my bike! so i thought maybe the clutch was messed up! so i took it apart and put my spare in and still made the noise! Sounds like it comin from the head but hard to tell! if any one has ran into this problem or has any advice let me know thanks

My thoughts: air leak on the intake side. so, start at the filter box with the engine running and try to find some leaky gasket. A little trick i've used on my truck is to spray carb cleaner at joints and gaskets. if it gets sucked in, you'll hear the engine rpms dip. also there are reed valves on the heads. I don't know anything about them other than they exist. maybe they could cause this noise?
Is there anyway to post a sound clip?
