Is it fouling plugs? Fuel pressure regulator maybe. Too much pressure will add just a little more spray during open time of the injector. Probably not enough to foul plugs right off, but enough to be rich. I'm just guessin too, just an idea.

too much oil on the filter maybe? on the other hand you're not confusing something being wrong with the little low rpm flat spot that all stock 929s have? around 4k rpms it kinda smoothes out? who sync'd the throttle bodies? i would take it back to that person to let them check it out.

^^ + 1 to that

If your cruising around and the rpms are below 4k, it will be very choppy, Its the HTEV valves in the exhaust and the flapper in the inatke opening and closing cuase you right in bewtween the 2 settings.. If you roll out very slow you can feel/hear it open at #k rpm's

+2...

From the sounds of it, you've got a normally operating 929...

That's the only bad thing though... oh yeah, the front end is a tad light - but that's IT!

Great bike, btw.

I had the same set up(erion and stock filter)before I got a pc and mine was the same as the others say. A little flat spot and smells rich at idle. On the other hand if you are fouling plugs and your bros cant ride behind you there's something wrong. It is probably something minor or it would run likecrapall the time. Since the injectors have been messed with I'd start there. What do you mean by sync'd. Did they clean and flow test them or did you get new ones with the same flow rates? Are you sure the harness got put back on them correctly?? Start it up with the air box lid and filter out and wiggle test the sensors and harness in that area and see if rpm or tone change.

My 929 isn't choppy below 4K and dealing with California traffic, I should know. Is this a problem with others??? My bike still has low mileage, so is this something to expect later on???

^^ i should rephrase that... Its not "very choppy" it just isnt super smooth and it kinda shakes the bike a little bit, very minimal but still noticeable

it was doing the same thing before i took it to the shop. the guy said that it sounds like the fuel injectors needed to be synchronised. he adjusted them with a vacuum gauge but it still runs the same after i got it back. its not choppy at all it just boggs down until i hit about 2000 rpm's and the more weight i put on it the worse it is. after i get passed the 2000 mark its smooth as glass.
