Default 929 keeps shuting off

Hi, I have an 01 929 here. It cranks right up and runs for about 15 seconds then shuts off. I push starter button and it fires right back and does same thing. If I start bike and keep it revved up or some steady throttle it won't shut off unless the throttle is released. Be glad to add more detail if someone can help on this one.
Thanks

More information is always welcome.
History of the bike and repairs/work done recently....

Have you tried messing with the base idle adjuster?

have not messed with that. When it starts it is running at choke rpm's or there about. I have notice when it cranks up the cold the choke plunger is not moving, which I might be wrong there. I repaired the harness on right side where the ground junction is because it was burnt. Replaced both relays that deal with fuel and engine cutoff. Cleaned right bar switch contact and stretched spring in it just barely so it is making good contact in run position. Don't have a gauge for fuel pump to test pressure. It sounds like the fuel pumps is priming pretty strong. Looks of it the bike has sat outside in the weather most of time.

Hi, 74Demon. I replied through quick post and it hasn't showed up yet in the thread. Maybe it is my computer or does it take a bit to show up?

The fast idle wax unit moves when the coolant gets warm and reduces the idle.
Try turning the adjustment screw in a bit to see if it will hold a warm idle. Should be about 1200 rpms warm.. .

Ok thanks. With air box off and tank lifted in rear, I adjusted screw in so it lifted wax adjuster plate or bracket and idle doesn't change. I figured it would change idle no matter what by adjusting it. I adjust idle in or out it doesn't change anything.

The idle adjustment **** dangles just inside the left fairing by the front sprocket.

Sounds like you messed with the wax unit pull off. Put it back where it was

I turned the idle ****. I looked up in there and it looked as if it was moving plate above wax unit. I never adjust any of the nuts in sequence across throttle inline with wax unit.

The idle won't change until it warms up. But it has to get there first.

Are all the vacuum lines hooked up and correct?
