Just wondering if I had a set of plastics from a 954 if they would fit on my 929...any one know?

I know there are a lot of parts that are interchangeable...but what about the fairings?

Frame is interchangable, subframe has different mounting points for the tail section. If you had the headlight & all necessary 954 parts then it will work. they are essentially the same bike, so the swingarm, and engine bolt right up. Comp. is different, jets, bore, airbox, gastank, headlight, guages, tail,

Enough work will make anything fit. Not really worth the assle though, the 929 looks sweet as it is. [8D]

 

can the 954 engine bolt right on without any modification??

 

You would need the CDI box, but as far as I know it will work... Not really worth the hassle for an extra 8 hp though.
I don't know if it would run right without the 954 airbox. 954 has higher airbox volume, and the comp. would probably have problems, but I am only speculating on that. The only difference between the engines is a +1mm bore on the '54. I might try a 954 engine swap if my 929 ever blows up on me, but not really worth the $$$ unless you have to do it anyways...


Aeroworks, you just got your bike... I know power & the possibility of is addictive. I feel it too, but our bikes are fast enough as it is[8D]

 

well my bike has 20k on her now. i am just thinking if i ever come across some motor issues .. ill probaly just buy a low mile 954 motor off ebay or something. be like a new kitten again.
