The big in the pic is a 929, which, I'm sure everyone knows by now. I looked in the service manuals, etc... and found that three model 929s were made in 2001.
CBR929RR RE Erion Racing Edition (Erion pipe was not a factory option, I believed they called it a dealer option)
CBR900RR (929) Black vynil number plates on tail section, black lowers, red upper, red stripes
CBR900RR LE (929) Same as above only difference is white vynil number plates on tail section (so maybe limited edition?? don't/ wouldn't understand why though).
As you state, you saw where the displacement in located on the case. The main difference is physical appearance changes were when the 900rr ended in 99, then the 929's for 00 and 01 (in which was/is the year of the erion edition), then 02-03 came the 954's.
so because of the plates on the back, I put some white vynil on the front to contrast the smoked db shield and match the rear. I think it came out pretty good, aye?
