Default Is 5.2 too short to ride?

HELP!!!!!!..I found my dream bike and got my heart broken..I'm 5.2 and I was told at the shop that I was not going to be able to lower it enough for me to ride....It was said that the 3+ inches need to go was way too much. (Yes, my legs are REALLY short) After speaking to my friend who is a pro racer, he said..anything can be lowered to fit me...he is not familiar with Honda at all...I'm getting conflicting opinions.....

you can trim the seat foam to help and get some lowering links. I am a shortie myself ( 5'4") and I just use one foot at a time to get around. With proper planning and determination you can do it too...or do what I did waaayyy back when I got into the motorcycle crowd, buy a FZR1000 which has a seat height of 30.5"

LOL! Well at least someone out there can relate with me... I had the same problem too. I asked for suggestions, and most of which pointed to "DON't LOWER THE BIKE"... I'm only 5'3... I have a 01 929 that FELT high.. I can barely touch the ground with two feet, i stop with the tip of my toes touching the ground. I do fine... I bought the corbin seat which was about 1" shorter than the stock (and more comfortable). I would say that 5'2 would be the SHORTEST a person can be for these particular crotch rockets. :P

Trust me...i've seen it all. I just come from being stationed in Okinawa, Japan for 3 years and riding bikes the entire time. Most of the Okinawan's over there are 4'10" to 5'8" average. These guys are riding anything with two wheels. It's funny seeing them come to a controlled stop and hold the bike up with one leg (because that's all they can reach with). Don't test them though! As soon as they push off, they are gone!!!!! So my advice to you is as our other fellow riders are telling you. If you really want to ride...let nothing stand in your way. You may have to modify your riding technique and buy a smaller seat and other mods. Whatever it takes...get on two wheels and stay up.
