I wasn't trying to bash (even though I don't think you were referring to me. I was just saying that I feel more justified and hopeful that I will get back most (if not all) of the money I put into my bike. And that's not something that happens in most cases. That is if I sold the bike right NOW which DEFINITELY isn't in the cards.

I'm not tryin to ***** up your thread man. If it seems like that I apologize. You have a very clean bike and I hope that you get what you want for it!

Now I'm off to make a comment about the bashing in another thread....

9 time out of ten you’re not going to make your money back when you start modding a car or a bike. If your trying to justify buying a high dolor item by saying you sell it and get my money back your won’t on most stuff. I have had several friends with magazine cover truck and cars and they only get a fraction of what it actually cost to build. Example I totaled up $3,595 in declared mods to his bike. The buy it now is at $6,499 now = your selling the bike for $2904 if you were trying to get your money back for the mods. We all know that that does not make sense. Really the mods listed aren’t a lot so you can see where it adds up quick. I’ve personally spent 14K for mods on my car because I can’t make up my mind and didn’t plan it out and I did 75% of the work myself. We’ve spent 30K on the blue truck in some of my pictures I have and we still don’t have an interior, electrical, plumbing, & paint done but it will be a show truck when it’s done. But I’m working on roadster Fiero right know that we only have 5k wrapped up into it and when it’s done we might just have a little over 10K because we planned it. I’m getting off topic but I thought the same thing, I’ll make my money back, when I started working on my first car and after totaling everything up you realize……this is expensive[sm=oopssign.gif]. Learn from my mistakes: Relize your ability, pocketbook, how are you going to use it, and then plan!

I think the price is slightly high but because of the mileage more so and the commonly done mods (pipe and conversion) that are done he could demand a little more then the average but it still looks average. The economy is uncertain right now so buyers are looking for more quality but the pool of shoppers is less also. Thirdly depends on the seller’s situation. If you can afford to sit on it then you have a better chance of selling it for the price you want but it might become stale if you wait to long. In short I think because of the mileage and I think he can stick it out for a bit he’ll do ok.[sm=signs003.gif]

I totally agree with LJ on this one. The dood's just trying to sell his bike. Obviously, Speed didn't post here to get bashed. He posted here to get the word out that his bike's for sale. Instead of gettin top dollar for the bike in a time where it's hard to sell in the first place, he's gonna have to lower the price to attract anybody because of all the bad publicity. Being a member of this forum means we should help him out at the very least. It all comes back if you ever decide to sell your bike.

It's always those few bad apples. For those who don't know, organizations like this continue to survive because of its members. This means new members as well. Without new fresh members, the forums die off and everybody's left with a bad taste in their mouth reading all the negativity in a lot of these threads.

Instead of making this place like a dysfunctional family, everybody needs to make this place feel like a welcoming home. It takes work, I know! Joking around every once in awhile is kool, as long as everybody's laughin. Otherwise, some things are better kept to one's self. I know some members have the "I'm gonna teach this guy a lesson" attitude, but the lesson never gets taught while respecting the forum rules. I'd say better path is to see where people are comin from and help them achieve they're goal within the realm of the rules of the forum.

Heck, I'd keep comin back to a forum/family like that forever!

Good luck Speed!

Opressed? What are you talking about? Your post made no sense with regards to this thread. Speed's not opressed. Does that look like the bike of an opressed man lol?

Seriously dood, you need to take your own advice and lighten up yourself. You can't make it your sole purpose here to follow me from thread to thread posting a snide reply to everything I say. For real!

I was keeping an eye on it and it didn't break in to 5K on ebay. I think everyone was just trying to help him sell the bike by saying the price looks high and you might sit on it for a bit. I think everyone is making a bigger deal about it than it really is.He's starting off high and adjust to his needs on selling it.[sm=smiley31.gif]
